World Wide Water Waster Haters

The main problem we are working on is water wastage. Water wastage is a big problem because in first world contries peopel take water for granite and waste it often. But, in 3rd and 2nd world contries they dont have water due to other contries wasting water.
Questions:
           1.Do 2nd and 3rd World countries have little, dirty water becuase they dont have the technology, or because 1st world countries are wasting it all.

Some Stats:
  1. Americans now use 127 percent more water than we did in 1950.
  2. About 95 percent of the water entering our homes goes down the drain.
  3. Running the tap while brushing your teeth can waste 4 gallons of water.
  4. Older toilets can use 3 gallons of clean water with every flush, while new toilets use as little as 1 gallon.
  5. Leaky faucets that drip at the rate of one drop per second can waste up to 2,700 gallons of water each year.
  6. A garden hose or sprinkler can use almost as much water in an hour as an average family of four uses in one day.
  7. A water-efficient dishwasher will use as little a 4 gallons per wash cycle, whereas some older models use up to 13 gallons per cycle.
  8. Some experts estimate that more than 50 percent of landscape water use goes to waste due to evaporation or runoff caused by over-watering.
  9. Many people in the world exist on 3 gallons of water per day or less. We can use that amount in one flush of the toilet.
  10. Over a quarter of all the clean, drinkable water you use in your home is used to flush the toilets.         1. Humans use more and more water each year.

    9. For an automatic dishwasher 35 to 45 litres (9 to 12 gallons) of water is used.

    10. Saving a bottle of cold water in the fridge is better that taking it from the tap, because it saves time and water.

    11. While brushing your teeth, instead of leaving the tap running, you should fill up a glass to rinse your mouth.

    12. Baths use less water than a typical shower. Soaking in a partially filled tub will use less water than a short shower.

    13. The average person spends less than 1 % of his or her total personal expenditure dollars for water, wastewater, and water disposal services.

    14. Less than 1% of the water treated by public water systems is used for drinking and cooking.

    15. Bottled water can be up to 1000 times more expensive than tap water and it may not be as safe.

    16. Today, at least 400 million people live in regions with severe water shortages.
